Meet the Bishop

Integrity and proper leadership are very important to Bishop Anthony Harley. He is known as a “Man of God” who teaches and preaches an uncompromising Word, a Word that challenges one’s faith, and a Word that promotes lifestyles to conform to the will of God.

Bishop Harley received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of sixteen. After graduating from high school, and receiving an honorable discharge from the US Navy, he married his high school sweetheart, Lady Donna, in June 1979.

When the Lord spoke to him concerning the call to Pastor in 1994, Elder Harley refused to accept it. He felt he was inadequate, unworthy, and lacked the abilities of a Pastor. The Lord let him know that it wasn’t his ability, but his availability that would allow him to be equipped and filled with the anointing of the Holy Ghost to carry forth his delegated mission. On August 7, 1994, he became the founder of the Lighthouse of Deliverance Gospel Church in Lindenwold, NJ.

In 2013, under the leadership of Bishop Eric A. Lambert, Jr., presiding Bishop of the Bethel Deliverance International Fellowship of Churches, Inc. (BDIFC), Pastor Harley was elevated to the sacred office of Bishop. In the same year, he received a Bachelor of Science in Bible from the Center for Urban Theological Studies (CUTS) in Philadelphia, PA. In November 2018, Bishop Harley received an Honorary Doctorate’s Degree from Saint Thomas Christian University in Jacksonville, FL.

Maintaining a teachable attitude and strong leadership style, Bishop Harley attributes these qualities to the late William L. King of Calvary United Church of Christ, the late Elder Otis T. Massey of Sanctuary C.O.G.I.C., the late Elder Ruben Hawkins of Prayer and Praise Temple C.O.G.I.C., and the late Apostle Paul E. Hines of Mt. Sinai Full Gospel Ministries. His strong family values came from his parents, Norman and Anna Ruth Harley, who raised nine of their own children and countless others in the neighborhood.

Bishop Harley is a master builder. With a background in construction management, he utilizes his skills as a tent maker to help other churches to build in excellence. “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.” I Corinthians 3:10

Bishop Anthony J. Harley and his wife, Lady Donna have been married for 40 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Chantel (Kevin) Washington and Danielle (Kevin) Scott and one grandson, Kevin Anthony Scott.
